Climate Change Law and Policy Review 2023

The 2023 volume of our Climate Change Law and Policy Review will showcase scholarship and perspectives on pathways to effective climate governance in the lead up to COP28 in Dubai. With the conference theme of "Together for Implementation," this journal volume will examine concrete strategies and collaborative actions needed to implement climate commitments and achieve our collective climate goals.

This peer-reviewed journal will feature insights from policymakers, researchers, business leaders, youth activists and indigenous groups worldwide. Authors will outline innovative legal frameworks, governance models, just transition policies, climate finance mechanisms and other means of accelerating climate progress across cities, countries and sectors. Voices from the Global South will highlight equitable climate approaches protecting vulnerable communities.

Set to be released in April-May 2024, this journal volume will incorporate fresh ideas and priorities emerging from COP28 side events held December 3-4, 2023 in the Dubai Green Zone. By bridging academic research with stakeholder perspectives and COP28 outcomes, this issue will synthesize key pathways and priorities to inform climate action.

As the world looks ahead to achieving the Paris Agreement goals and net zero emissions by mid-century, this journal volume will serve as an invaluable guide to multilevel climate governance. We invite diverse scholars and practitioners globally to submit abstracts by November 2023 for this timely exploration of collaborative pathways to effective climate action.

We invite submissions of 5,000-8,000 words, including footnotes, for the 2023 Climate Change Law and Policy Review. Please use 11-point Times New Roman font, double spacing, and Bluebook citation style throughout.

In line with COP28's focus on participation, papers should examine climate change laws, policies, and practices from diverse perspectives, with an emphasis on solutions from vulnerable groups including women, indigenous peoples, local communities, youth, persons with disabilities, grassroots activists, and religious groups.

Submissions are due by January 15, 2024. By spotlighting climate leadership from all segments of society, this journal will synthesize inclusive pathways for implementing the Paris Agreement and net zero transitions worldwide. We look forward to publishing innovative roadmaps for climate progress that leave no one behind.
