Youth Climate Art & Dialogue

The Canada Climate Change Law and Policy Research Center (CCCLP) believes that youth engagement is essential to a just and sustainable climate transition. Through art, dialogue, and international exchange, we create opportunities for young people to express their perspectives on climate change and to engage with leaders across generations.

Since 2023, CCCLP has organized two international youth climate art initiatives in connection with the UN Climate Change Conferences, using creative expression as a bridge between climate education, public engagement, and global dialogue.

COP28 Dubai
Youth Climate Art Exhibition and Action Forum

Theme: Seeing Nature and Climate

At COP28 in Dubai, CCCLP organized a Youth Climate Art Exhibition and Action Forum at the China Pavilion. The initiative provided a platform for young people to express their reflections on nature, climate change, and sustainable futures through visual art.

The exhibition featured more than 200 artworks submitted by youth from Canada and other countries. During the two-week conference, the exhibition and related activities attracted over 70,000 visitors, including delegates, educators, artists, and government representatives.

The initiative also received recognition from the Office of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, along with visits and support from Canadian parliamentarians and international climate leaders.

COP30 Belém
Youth Climate Art Dialogue

Theme: Intergenerational Climate Dialogue

At COP30 in Belém, CCCLP further expanded this work through the Youth Climate Art Dialogue, focusing on climate conversations across generations. The initiative connected youth creators with established artists and senior practitioners from China’s energy sector, including veteran energy official Wang Siqiang, to explore how different generations understand climate change, responsibility, and transition.

By bringing together artistic expression and practical experience, the dialogue highlighted the cultural, emotional, and policy dimensions of climate action, while encouraging deeper reflection on sustainability, development, and shared responsibility.

Our Approach

CCCLP uses youth art and dialogue as a form of climate engagement that is educational, inclusive, and internationally connected. Beyond global conferences, the Center works with schools, NGOs, and communities to strengthen climate literacy, creative communication, and public participation.

We seek to support a generation of young people who engage climate issues with imagination, empathy, and a sense of responsibility.

Current and Future Opportunities

CCCLP will continue to develop youth-focused climate art, dialogue, and education initiatives in collaboration with schools, community organizations, and international partners.
