Biography
David Wang is a Master of Science candidate in Environmental Health at Harvard University, focusing on climate and sustainability. He holds a BA in Economics and Mathematics from New York University.
David has international experience spanning investment banking, venture capital, and climate finance. At WI Harper Group in San Francisco, he conducted due diligence and investment analysis on companies advancing sustainability, healthcare, and cutting-edge technologies. At Morgan Stanley in Beijing, he contributed to IPO preparation, industry research, and strategic advisory work in the energy and technology sectors. In carbon markets, David developed a trading strategy at Climate Wedge Ltd. that achieved significant returns while advancing the understanding of carbon allowances as a tool for global decarbonization.
David currently serves as a Research Expert with the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), supporting the development of global sustainability disclosure standards. He also works closely with the Harvard Salata Institute’s Climate Leaders Program and Harvard C-CHANGE, convening experts and practitioners to accelerate progress in clean energy and sustainable finance. His career interests lie at the intersection of climate and capital, with a commitment to directing finance toward green energy innovation and long-term sustainable development.
