Bruce Usher is a Professor of Professional Practice and a Faculty Director of the Tamer Institute for Social Enterprise and Climate Change at Columbia Business School. He also serves on the Columbia Climate School faculty. His teaching and writing examine how finance, investment, and entrepreneurship can accelerate climate solutions, with a focus on renewable energy, climate technology, and the role of business in the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Usher is the author of Investing in the Era of Climate Change and Renewable Energy: A Primer for the Twenty-First Century. Before joining Columbia, he was CEO of EcoSecurities, which developed greenhouse gas emissions-reduction projects in developing countries. He remains an investor and adviser to climate-focused ventures, bringing experience in financial markets and project development to his academic work.
