Youth Just Transition Research Initiative

The Youth Just Transition Research Initiative, launched by the Canadian Center for Climate Change Law and Policy (CCCLP), empowers young leaders to advance data-driven research and actionable policy analysis exploring the intersection of climate change, climate finance, and education equity within the global just transition framework.

Participants work on projects that directly contribute to policy briefs, community tools, and white papers presented at major climate forums such as COP, ensuring their research is used to support real-world climate action and equitable transitions globally.

We are committed to:
 Investigating the role of climate education in supporting a just transition;
Examining the potential of stablecoins and carbon finance in advancing equitable climate governance and community-led transition efforts.

Since 2022, CCCLP has actively engaged in foundational activities and pilot studies, laying the groundwork for the scaled research and youth participation we are expanding in 2024 and beyond.

2025  Research Themes
Theme 1: Climate Education for Just Transition

Exploring the impacts of climate change on education equity and the role of education in building community resilience and green skills within the global just transition.
